Why we desperately need your donations:

Magnolia House NH – Recovery Housing Essentials

Magnolia House NH is a local non-profit, section 501 (c)(3) in Hampton NH. We are are recovery housing based on dignity, compassion and integrity. We do not take insurance so our program is self funded and funded through private donations.

This Amazon list is essentials that our residents use consistently.

We are at a time of reestablishing and hunting our growth opportunities and in search of homes within the Seacoast areas to either be rented for a low fee or purchased/donated. The demand is so much greater than what we’re currently able to provide within our Seacoast Community. We’re utilizing all of our resources with the goal to accomplish a greater impact at a faster pace. We believe that these needs we have lie in the hands of our people and our community members, not on at the state level.

A recovering addict is not just someone who is not using drugs or alcohol, they are now contributing members to our communities. They are no longer homeless, they have jobs and work in our communities in every level, they pay taxes, they are not taking up tax dollars for being incarcerated, they are parents that are engaged and present in their child’s lives. They no longer are menaces in our communities or problems within their family system. They are the helpers, the healers, the ones that will show up for someone in need. An addict in recovery is absolutely a superhero. They clawed their way back to life that many don’t have the chance to do. They are true warriors. But, they need the help to get to that level and that’s where your donations are needed and every dollar counts.

Magnolia House of New Hampshire is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that currently provides residential Recovery housing for those recovering from a substance use disorder.

Our 2024 annual operating budget is $390,000 with a total of 19 beds and a (2) bedroom apartment dedicated to our reunification program. We are the only Residential Recovery Home program within Rockingham County, we are not subsidized by the state and our cost of living is one of the highest in the entire state due to being located in the beautiful Seacoast. Magnolia House NH is also (1) of only a few Residential Recovery Home non-profits within the entire state. We rely heavily on donations from companies and people within our community.

Those willing to fight for their own lives and come to Magnolia House NH have experienced major setbacks in their life due to active addiction pertaining to relationships, legal issues, health concerns, and depleting financial resources, which is why your donations are needed.

Many times, a resident will come to us with only the clothes on their back. When this happens Magnolia House will take them to the grocery store and allow them to pick out the food that they enjoy because showing them dignity is so important when they are in such a vulnerable state upon arrival. We will take them clothes shopping to pick out the clothes that allow them to feel a sense of belonging within their new community. We will even purchase them grooming products of their choice so they can smell and feel like humans again. This is how Magnolia House NH is able to show someone who may be feeling worthless, the compassion and dignity that they deserve as humans. This allows them to feel safe and seen and offers them the chance to show up as themselves for maybe the first time in their entire lives.

If you only give once a month or even a year, please think of us next time.

Although health insurance will provide the ability to get professional medical treatment, and safe ways for detox from substances, funding is limited for healthy residential living. Without your donations, many of these men and women return to environments that are unsafe because it’s either free or cheap.

They face homelessness that enables relapse. Many do not have the opportunity to seek safe and Compassionate Recovery homes due to financial setbacks. Patterns of abuse are repeated when recovering addicts and alcoholics return to the family due to that family system many times being broken.
